Welcome to my world of art and science!

Through my work, I hope to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural world that we all share.

My name is Angel Ulloa, and I am a wildlife artist and scientific illustrator.

I was born and raised in the city of Maracay, in the state of Aragua, Venezuela. My passion for naturalist painting dates back to my childhood, where I was exposed to the wonders of the natural world by my father, a zooecologist, and his colleagues.

As a child, I would accompany them on their expeditions as an apprentice illustrator, sketching and painting the beautiful creatures I saw around me. I was amazed by the diversity of life, and the more I observed, the more my passion for painting grew. I realized that painting allowed me to capture the essence of nature and share its beauty with others.

Over the years, I have dedicated my life to wildlife art and scientific illustration. My work has been exhibited in national and international galleries, and acquired by various private and institutional collectors. I have also been fortunate to participate as an illustrator in various projects for national and international zoological and scientific institutions.

I am a member of The Wildlife Art Society International (TWASI) based in England, where I was awarded the Best International Artist gold medal in 2006. This recognition was a tremendous honor and a validation of my lifelong dedication to wildlife art and scientific illustration.

As an artist, I am deeply committed to the conservation of the natural world. My paintings are a celebration of life, a tribute to the beauty and fragility of the creatures that inhabit our planet. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural world that we all share.

Living and breathing, we're promised a future where there is no encounter. The breeze caresses me, like the whispers of the river, and drifts away from my wounded heart, into fires I don't belong to. The smoke from my pipe spirals in the air, just as it does in my mind, creating slow Ferris wheel-like turns that make me dizzy in the depths of the well I long for.
